The Early Head Start Center was opened in November of 2012. The center has three classrooms and twenty-four children enrolled. The Early Head Start Center has a low child to staff ratio (4:1). Each classroom has two lead teachers for eight children.
The Early Head Start Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm.
Head Start Preschool Center Base has two full day classrooms open and two half day classrooms open with a morning and afternoon classroom. Children attend preschool Monday – Thursday. The Head Start Preschool Center Base is open 7:45am to 4pm
The Home Based option provides an In Home Family Specialist who goes into the home and works directly with the parent/guardian to plan weekly activities individualized for the child. This option is available in eight counties (Adams, Billings, Bowman, Dunn, Golden Valley, Hettinger, Slope, and Stark). They engage parent’s in their child’s learning and development by providing family-friendly activities in the home to promote and strengthen parent-child interactions.
Socializations are a great way for your child(ren) to interact with others their age and for the adults to communicate as well! It’s a chance to get out of the house, enjoy a snack, play games, sing songs, and of course a little parental education is involved. Sign up with your home visitor (Leigh, Tennille or Kirsten). Dickinson and Hettinger County have Socializations each month. Dickinson Socializations are at 338 SE 1st Street, Dickinson, ND. Hettinger County Socializations are in Rhame at the the Rhame school from September – May.
The Early Head Start program enrolls expectant mothers and provides them with education and resources to prepare for the birth of their infant.
